St Marks in Venice

The first day we looked at the line to get into St Marks in Venice and said, we will come back first thing in the morning.  Well first thing for us was about 10:00 AM. As we were taking the water bus around from the train station it started to rain, when we got off the boat, I bought an umbrella from the first vendor.  Because of the rain, the line was about 20 people, instead of 500. The ceilings are decorated in incredible mosaics.  The stairs to the upper level and outside terrace are on the right between the inner and outer doors.  The climb up the stone steps is brutal, but the views are worth it.
