Telling a story - the first snowfall

Nikon D5500 70-300 Nikkor DX
90mm ISO 200, F/9 1/250
This is an imperfect image, the focus is not perfect, the light reflecting off the water make it appear grey or silver instead of dark blue, but the image tells a story.  Someone walking carefully back up a slope, after the first snow.  The colorful ends of the kayaks still out by the waterside, leaves still on the trees show that this was an early snow at Lake Tahoe.

There is a YouTube channel The Photographic Eye, by Alex Kilbee that I have been watching.  He trained as a photojournalist, has worked as a professional for about 30 years.  He talks about technique and philosophy of photography.  For him the thing that sets a snapshot apart from a photograph, is does it tell a story.  This imperfect image tells much more of a story, than the perfect photos taken around it.  Check out his channel, if you enjoy it subscribe.
